Young Adults Ministry
Young Adult Fellowship (YAF)
Each month, our young adults meet together for a shared meal and teaching time in the home of Matt and Courtney Walkenhorst (see below). This group ranges in age from 18 to early 30s and is open to both singles and married couples. Our regular meeting day and time is the second Wednesday of the month at 6 PM.
The teaching time varies between book discussions and Bible studies, while our focus is friendship and fellowship over food. Whether you’ve just graduated high school, currently attend college, are newly married, or a young professional looking to meet other believers, you are invited. There is no need to bring anything but yourself. We hope to see you there!
Abide
Young adults at ARC participate in an organization called Abide, which connects them to other young adult groups in the area. This provides the opportunity to participate in three to four regional events per year, which vary between board game nights, hiking trips, and museum visits, but it always includes a meal together.
The Abide organization also hosts multi-day retreats and attract Christians from across the country. It is a ministry for all young adults who desire intentional Christian fellowship with like-minded peers, particularly those from Reformed and Presbyterian churches.
Matt & Courtney Walkenhorst
Matt is the pastoral intern at Ascension Reformed Church. He leads our Young Adult Fellowship (YAF) and is the area coordinator of the Cincinnati-Dayton region of Abide. He is married to Courtney, and they have four young children: Teddy, Cliff, Ron, and Susannah. They host the monthly meeting of YAF in their home.
